The journey has just begun. Join us as we walk through the gates of the Season.

This is the time of Balance as we begin to prepare for Winter. This is the time of the Union of Opposites, Sacrifice, Cleansing and the beginning of Introspection.  We take stock of our actions, words, and deeds and become accountable for them. The Shades of Our Psyche come forth to speak with us as we make this journey.   This is not a Child friendly ritual; intense images and emotions will be brought to the surface.

There will be NO Feasting, but instead we ask that you bring food and drink for yourself for grounding after the rite. Seating blankets will be provided for us to ground as a community group.

Lughnasadh Ritual and Camping

Rituals
Friday -  Druid Fire Lighting Ceremony 5:00 PM
Saturday  – Lughnasadh Ritual 6:30 PM,  Potluck Dinner after ritual

Events and Debauchery
-Campfire drumming, songs and other merriment  on both nights
-Mardi Gras bead contest-collect the most beads by Saturday at midnight and win a prize
-Guising on Saturday beginning at Sunset
-Saturday Night Kid-Twister and Adult Twister
-Pagan Bartering for Wares all day Saturday
-Mother Goose Children’s Story & Craft circle on Saturday afternoon

Additional Information
-  Please bring a dish to share for the potluck dinner on Saturday
-  Please bring a bundle of wood per person to keep our fire burning bright
-  Show your love of the Goddess by keeping the campsites and bonfire area clean
-  Children are welcome. We ask that parents curfew minors by 11 PM (Adults need their fun too)
-  Porta-potties will arrive on Friday. The money maiden will ask for monetary donations toward this essential cause.

Directions (approximately an hour from Salt Lake) -

I-80 East from Salt Lake up toward Park City
Get off I-80 at exit 146 Heber/Vernal
Go through Heber up Daniels Canyon
Turn Left at mile marker 37- Strawberry River
Watch for signs!
Keep to the gravel road for approx 4 miles.
There will be a gravel road on the left, turn left and follow this road keeping on the main road for approximately 1 mile.

Donations:
Of firewood or any necessary supplies, time would be graciously accepted. The money maiden will also make an appearance to collect any cash donations to help cover the cost of materials and the campsite. Thank you.

8:45 Full Moon Ritual.

There will be a Full Moon ritual at Moonrise, approximately 8:45 PM. We will be celebrating the Moon in it’s masculine form. Please everyone attending if at all possible please wear, white, silver or blue. A toga would be perfectly appropriate. Assemble by the water.

Please bring any statues, representations of the God and any pictures/representations of the beloved dead, especially male beloved.

  1. 1. Please RSVP for this event. Please contact Carlee Nowling at 801-719-4066 or email her at wiccanweirdo83@yahoo.com, please do this even if you RSVP through meet-up, or facebook, and please RSVP even if it is a “maybe,” this will ensure that we have the space, and materials for you. Please include your name, your contact info, email address is fine, how many will be in your party, how many cars will be included in your party and if you are camping. Also include if you are attending both Sat and Sun or just one day. Please also include if you have any dietary restrictions I need to be aware of. I will most likely be suppling one staple for the community feast and need to know how many vegetarians and ominvores to provide for.
  2. 2. Please bring a potluck dish for the community feast to share, this will occur on both days. Please also bring your own plates, bowls, cups and silverware. Please also bring any God statues/representations that you would like on the altar, and any pictures etc of beloved dead you would like to honor.
  3. 3. Please bring with you any supplies you will need to camp, this incudes, food, water, bug spray, sunscreen, tents, sleeping bags, firewood etc, please refer to the Basic Community Camping Etiquette for more information and suggestions. It can be found here: [link]

Please bring a vegetarian potluck dish with a Mediterranean theme (like Greek, Egyptian, Italian, etc.) and re-usable dining ware.  We can supply the silverware and cups.  We strive to reduce unnecessary waste from paper plates, etc so please NO paper plates and disposable dining ware.

ALSO please ponder and bring some type of healing request you would like from the goddess for the earth or humanitarian efforts within the new season growing.

Experience your own power as a poet, a smith, and a healer in honor of the Goddess who reawakens the Living Land to ready us for the coming Spring.

The ritual will take place on Saturday, January 30, with an orientation at 7 PM and ritual beginning promptly at 7:30 PM. Participants are asked to assemble at 6 PM for setup.

For ritual:
Pencil and paper.
A small bottle of an anointing oil of your choice, with attributions to fire.
Drums, noisemakers or other rhythm instruments.
For afterwards:
A nonperishable can or box of food for the Utah Aids Foundation, or gently used clothing for Our Store.
A potluck dish to share
A small donation, if desired, to cover the cost of ritual supplies.

This ritual is alchemical in nature and is symbolic for the cycle of the sun rising and setting, like the stages of life and death, to illustrate understanding of the eternal spiritual journey of the sun and ourselves. This rite illustrates an alchemical key of the mysteries of the inner sun.

Aspen Grove Lughnassadh will be hosted by ODU and Garran Na Laethe Bhi on August 7, 8, 9. Ritual will be at 6pm Aug 8th. Feasting, Drumming, Shots to the Quarters and other festivities all weekend long. We will be camping at Strawberry Reservoir (same place as last year).
