2008 Beltane in the park

April 15th, 2008

Come Celebrate Beltane With Aspen Grove

Saturday, May 10, 2008 4:00 pm
CreekSide Park 4800 South 1664 East

What to Bring:
Bring your brooms to help with the ritual.
Bring a dish to share for feasting after the rite.
Beltane is about honoring Life. May is the month of sensuality and sexuality revitalized, the reawakening of the earth and Her Children. It is the time when we reawaken to the vivid colors, vibrant scents, tingling summer breezes, and the rapture of summer after a long dormant winter. May is a time when flowers bloom, trees are green and life has again returned from the barren landscape of winter, to the hope of bountiful harvests, and the lighthearted bliss that only summer can bring.

This ritual will be interactive and full energy. There is no childcare provided. Children are welcome to attend and participate, but will require parental supervision. We will be playing in the park most of the day so come early and hang with the community.

For information and updates, please visit the Aspen Grove public Yahoo Group, an open enrollment group.

The Banner Had Been Raised…

September 10th, 2007

From the depths of the deep green wood, figures emerge into the light
of the new day, their colours raised in procession toward a great
community gathering.

They represent a small group of people who have joined together from
different groups and traditions and paths to reform a circle called
Aspen Grove – a community circle forged by a coalition of community
leaders and individuals, who have agreed to serve as its custodians;
a diverse and renewed effort to provide opportunities for
celebration, ritual, education and fellowship.

The figures invite you to come join with them, to add your energies
to the circle and the celebration.

Seek for the Aspen Grove Banner or for those bearing the sign of
Aspen Grove at Pagan Pride Day to learn more.

The banner has been raised. Now let us rally around this new effort
and make the hope of a new community circle something more than
merely a dream.

Peace,

Windwood

Something is brewing…

August 7th, 2007

Something stirs within the depths of the deep green wood. Shadowy
figures shift and move around a bubbling cauldron – a small community
of people gathered from different groups, different traditions,
different paths. Their light and their laughter beckon you to join
with them as the dawn begins to break. A radiant glow rises up from
the trees to greet the dawning of a new community circle – a circle
with a familiar name but manifesting in a new form. Very soon Aspen
Grove will return.

Keep your eyes and ears open for news of this “new” community circle
and the opportunity to participate and share in a diversity of
celebrations, education and fellowship.

Aspen Grove will be a community circle forged by representatives from
a variety of groups and by individuals representing no groups. It
will not be owned by any one group or individual. It will be the
product of diversity. Its purpose is to create an ideal of community
based on shared ethics, values and behaviours, not on shared beliefs,
traditions or paths.

Watch and wait and then please join us when the circle is opened to
all who would participate and contribute to a new community circle.
Something is, indeed, brewing in the Aspen Grove tonight.

Peace,

Windwood
